We are welcoming back Cheryl Pounder - Cheryl presented at Expo 2016 - if you missed seeing her then, you will not want to miss her again!

Speakers from Covenant House Toronto will talk separately to youth and service providers about keeping safe


3 separate programs are being planned for Expo 2018:

1. A DAYTIME (9:30 am - 2:00 pm) program for youth including presentations from Cheryl Pounder, Ross Szabo and Covenant House

    Themes include:  resiliency, teamwork, leadership, mental health challenges and support, online safety, giving back to the community

    A showcase of different careers will take place.  Youth will hear from individuals working in those careers, what courses they took in school and how they got their first job.  Lots of opportunities to explore and ask questions.

2. An afternoon (3:00 pm - 4:30 pm) program for service providers including presentations from Ross Szabo about the ties between substance abuse and mental health, and from Covenant House on human trafficking

3. An evening (6:00 pm - 8:30 pm) program for the community including presentations from Cheryl Pounder and Ross Szabo and 2 sessions from our local Police Services: 1. marijuana and driving and; 2. internet safety

Friday June 3 from 5 pm - 9 pm 

  • OPP Golden Helmets, precision motorcycle team, open the Expo with a show at 5pm
  • At 7 pm Special Guest Sheldon Kennedy provides a key-note presentation and book signing


Saturday June 4 from 8 am - 5 pm

  • At 8:30 am Special Guest Cheryl Pounder provides a key-note presentation
  • Breakout sessions and panel discussions, Kids Zone, Safety Village, Cycling Safety information and Helmet Fitting, FREE Child Minding for breakout session attendees, first responders set up outside, texting and driving crashed vehicle
  • At 11:30 am have lunch and get ready to listed to Special Guest Clara Hughes, she provides her key-note presentation at 12:30 pm
  • At 4:15 pm get "up close and personal" with Business Consultant and fomer CFL Linebacker, Jason Pottinger
