Dr. Charles Tator from the Canadian Concussion Centre, at the Krembil Brain Institute, Toronto Western Hopsital will be with us on April 25, and will be talking about the importance of educating health professionals and the community about the recognition, management and prevention of concussions. Concussions are the most common type of brain injury and occur in sports and recreation, especially in young people, in motor vehicle crashes and work-related injuries in all age groups, and in falls in the elderly. It is essential for the entire community to be on the concussion prevention team because good management can help many sufferers of the signficant consequences of concussion. Although there are still many unanswered questions about concussions, we have learned much about managing and preventing them in the past 10 years.
Attention: Parents, Players, Referees, Coaches, Educators, Sports Organizations and all members of the public. You don't need to be an athlete to suffer a concussion.
Please check back for more details about this FREE event open to all.
